Wordpress Mobile Plugin: Put your blog on cellphones and even make money from it

Yesterday I discovered the nice WordPress Mobile Plugin, a plugin that allows you to serve your blog’s content on cellphones without suffering all the problems that come when trying to make a website suitable for those tiny cellphones screens.

From the blogger view point the plugin is great. It allows you to choose from a variety of options to customize your mobile version, from specifying your blog’s index page welcome message and choosing to enable or disable if your users can see and leave a comments, to choosing an anchor text for your archives and pages links. It also gives you the possibility to practice moblogging, i.e. blogging from your mobile phone, so you won’t have any excuse to don’t do it even if you are lost and without computer access.

From the business opportunity view this is a really interesting way to expand your readership base by allowing your users to reach you with cellphones from everywhere, but that’s not all. The best part is that you can make money from your cellphone-enabled blog. In fact it’s extremely easy given that Andy Moore, the man behind WordPress Mobile Plugin, was so kind that he even put support for the AdMob mobile advertising network right there into the plugin, so the only thing you have to do is to tell the plugin what’s your AdMob Mobile Publisher ID and you are done. You serve ads inside your content, just like Google does with AdSense, enjoying fair 60-40 or 50-50 deals that AdMob offers to its partners depending on the type of advertisement you choose.

So what are you waiting for? Turn your blog mobile and make some money out from it now ;).
