Round 1: 3 Ideas to quickly make money online
Write articles for the O’Reilly network
If you are a highly technical person, that know what’s going on when you hear the abbreviations RMS, PHP, RoR, RTFM, BOFH and others, then it’s highly possible that you have something to share with the community in the form of an article for the O’Reilly network.
The O’Reilly network is part of O’Reilly Media Inc., the creators of some high quality books where they provide insights on how to make “magic” with computers, and it’s a network composed of 20 or more websites devoted each one to some specific technical theme. Some of those sites, particularly Perl.com, pay for articles submitted by members of the community, and they will publish it as long as it’s original, you follow their guidelines, and it covers an important and useful issue.
They say you can expect to earn $250 for a good article, but my experience says that $300-$400 is a more precise calculation. You will have the money on your pocket one month after the starting of your article and if you want to increase the possibilities to be elected as writer be sure to prepare a draft of your article after contacting one of their editors.
Design xhtml templates for xhtmlized.com
XHTMLized.com is a nice service where you send an image of how you’d like your web page or web application should looks like, and they send you that same image but converted into a fully capable xhtml file, so you can use it as a web page without having to worry about browser compatibility, image transparency problems, and others.
To deliver this excellent service for $189/7 days, they employ web designers from over 13 countries and are always looking for more additions to their team. If you are a designer and want to join them, you should expect to do 1 or 2 designs per day but as a side-reward you’ll have an excellent part-time job where you’ll enjoy complete freedom as Dave Rosen, xhtmlized.com founder, stated in Techcrunch.com:
We XHTMLizers pick and choose which projects we want to work on. XHTMLizers work when they want. They work as much as they want. They work from wherever they want. They take as many holidays as they want.
If you are a designer, this is your lucky day
Get reviewed by a big blogger
This one is an alternative that didn’t existed long time ago, and that requires some investment from your side. Payed reviews is a new kind of business where advertisers pay known bloggers to write a review of something they own or sell, i.e. a product/service, web site, blog, etc., in order to receive some part of that blogger’s readership as a consequence of the review.
Two business that help bloggers to handle all the details involved in a request for a review are PayPerPost and Reviewme. They are marketplaces where advertisers can look for interesting bloggers to get reviewed by, and provide all the needed systems to handle payments. Of course they get a cut from every review.
Now, if you want some famous blogger to review something for you, first you need to have something to announce to the world and know who’s the main blogger in the niche you are trying to make advertising. For example, in the niche of how to make money online JohnChow.com is a nice blog to get reviewed by. John does a lot of revisions every month and their clients are very satisfied as he told us in his post “Make money online with ReviewMe“:
[…] That’s incredible value and readership for a $250 [review]. I can’t report on the conversion rate from the post on his blog but within 2 hours of the review going live we had received 50+ pre-sales emails about SendStudio. I’m confident at least 25% of them will convert, so that will be a return of at least $2,868 (12 x $239 - the price of SendStudio). Not bad right?
so John’s blog was so useful for this advertiser that for an investment of $250 she got a return of $2868, more than 10 times the money invested. Not bad at all
