Expert tips on making money with Cafepress.com
Today I found a squidoo lens titled “How to run a successful Cafepress.com shop” written by Kimberly Dawn Wells, a successful Cafepress.com shopkeeper, where she talks in depth about how to get the most out of Cafepress.
Maybe you know that I wrote a post about Cafepress.com some days ago. It is a good article about what you can expect from Cafepress.com and how to start with it, but if you are serious about this alternative to make money online and you are interested to become a successful Cafepress shopkeeper, you must read Kimberly’s squidoo lens about how to do it. It covers topics such as:
- Useful links to articles on how to make money with Cafepress
- Inspirations sources for your designs (what’s new, what’s current or what is really strange, Kimberly said that “MATH related shirts have been selling like wild”, now that is weird, even taking in account I’m a mathematician)
- Use premium shops instead of basic ones
- Be sure to add good descriptions to your products
- Maintain a newsletter about your Cafepress shop
- Use premium pricing (or “don’t sell too cheap”)
- Don’t sell just t-shirts, use all the products that Cafepress puts at your disposition
- Create “other” pages (or “maintain a website not just a page selling your stuff”)
- Use the affiliate program to help sell items from other vendors, and get your part

Hi!
Thanks for the information. When I leave I will be going to Kimberly’s lens to see what she has to say. I currently have two shops at Cafepress, www.DefyGravityApparel.com and www.TheSpankedMonkey.com. The latter being my newest. I make money every month and I’m having a great time.

Hi Mark, good to know you are doing well with cafepress. Maybe you can share with us some numbers (estimate earnings, maybe not-so-exact numbers…) ?

Thanks for your information, I love cafepress, but I hope they could have more products, more color options….

Hi again,
Sorry it took so long to answer, Roberto. In the month of May I made 15% of what I made at my decent paying full-time job. This amount continues to go up as I add more designs, more people discover Cafepress, and search engines crawl my shops. I see the very real possibility that, in time, I could replace my current income.
